Novice Rep bring home a bronze at the Millbrook Olympics

The Dunnville Novice Rep team recently traveled to Millbrook to participate in an Olympic - style tournament. Dunnville, representing Germany, was one of ten teams taking part in the two day event.
Germany's (aka Dunnville) first game was against Russia (Peterborough). Strong defensive skills by Jake Rowe, Reagan Minor, Alaina Holodniuk, and Nate Shirton helped goaltender for Germany, Austin Davison shut down Russia 7-0. Way to go Austin! Goals were scored by Cody Powers (2), Rylan Jacob, Jack MacDonald, Tyler Halbert, Nate Shirton, and Alaina Holodniuk. Kyle Glenney earned MVP for the game, cashing in on 4 assists.
Next game Germany took on Belarus (Brighton). Early in the first period Germany's Rowan Garbutt scored to take the lead. Soon after, Nate Shirton put one in to secure the lead 2-0, assisted by Nathan Glaves. In the third period, Belarus scored two quick ones to tie. Germany's Rylan Jacob came back with help from Silas Swick, then Belarus, then again Jacob with the final go-ahead goal. Rylan Jacob's persistence helped win the nail-biter, and earned him the MVP for the game.
The following game for Germany was against Sweden (Meaford). Germany was able to hold their ground and managed a 5-2 victory against the Swedes. Goals were scored by Nate Shirton (2), Rowan Garbutt, Jack MacDonald, and Kyle Glenney, with MVP for the game going to Nate Shirton.
The next face off for Germany was against USA (Ganonoque), both teams previously undefeated. Germany's winning streak came to a halt, with USA downing Germany 5-1. Germany's single goal was scored by Nate Shirton, assisted by Jack MacDonald and Tyler Halbert, with MVP for the game going to Jack MacDonald.
This defeat put Germany in the bronze medal game against Latvia (Tavistock). The Germans came out on top, winning 4-1 against Latvia. Goals were scored by Kyle Glenney, Tyler Halbert, Rylan Jacob, and Alaina Holodniuk, with the MVP for the final game going to Tyler Halbert.
On the bench, helping to bring home the hardware, were coaches Todd Minor, Jason Glenney, and Laurie Garbutt, along with trainer Bill MacDonald. Well done, Novice Rep!
